Plan a fun physical activity into your daily routine. You will increase your energy level and refresh your outlook. It can simply be an activity you enjoy and look forward to doing or it can be something new that you have always wanted to try. Here are a few ideas:
• Try your hand at pickle-ball, rollerblading, or kickboxing
• Do intervals of jumping rope, mini trampoline and medicine ball
• Try a 30 min dance video like cardio, Zumba, hip hop
• Sign up for a group session of yoga or try an online session
• Take your dog for a longer walk and include the neighbor with their dog
• Bike your kids to or from school
• Swim 3 times a week
• Go on a nature hike and discover new areas
• Ride your bike to the store instead of taking the car
• Walk with a friend before or after work
Adding a friend or family member to the mix and it will make it all the more fun. It will also increase your motivation. The key is to do some type of physical activity every day and keep it consistent.
Guidelines suggest that we get at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity aerobic exercise per week, plus two to three days of muscle-strengthening activities. Aim for 30 minutes a day and you will be amazed at the added energy that it will put back into your life!
